Village at Heritage — Building C

The Village at Heritage was always meant to be more than a place to sleep between classes. Conceived as an urban-scaled mixed-use district on the ACHE campus at Chaffee Crossing, it has grown into the social and commercial hub of the fastest-developing corridor in the Arkansas River Valley — a place where medical students, faculty, and the broader community share the same streets, restaurants, and shops.

Building C, designed by Chasen Garrett Architects for Arkansas Colleges of Health Education, completed the three-building Village in December 2023. The 78,131-square-foot, three-story structure follows the traditional design standard established by Michael Watkins’ master plan and adds 70 student apartment units on the upper floors along with seven ground-floor commercial tenants — a tenant mix curated to serve both the campus community and the surrounding neighborhood. Dining, a wine bar, children’s and ladies’ fashion, a health aesthetics bar, and two home goods retailers occupy the street level, activating the pedestrian experience along Chad Colley Boulevard.

With Buildings A and B already in place, Building C completed the street wall of the Village and brought the total student housing capacity of the Village at Heritage to 134 units across three buildings. The ribbon was cut on December 14, 2023.

Chasen Garrett Architects’ office is located in the adjacent building, steps from the project. We didn’t just design this neighborhood — we work in it every day.
